Ichita Hasegawa

What’s the relationships between Crave, Sepior and Knabu? Are you a same company?

Robert Machado

We are three different companies providing different services.

Sepior is providing core MPC technology. At CYBAVO we have partnered with Sepior to use their MPC technology in our turn-key institutional wallet, and we have also partnered with Knabu to offered our solution with the addition of distributed trust to EMEA users.

Sperior provides MPC/Threshold Signature
Technology Licensing

Cybavo provides Turn-key Institutional-Grade Crypto Wallets

Knabu provides Wallet-as-a-Service Subscriptions

Private Key technology still need to improve in Japan. Security is most of the concern of the whole Japanese community. In Japan there are so many exchanges hacking accidents from 2017. Now the community is getting scared about the security issue. What’s solutions that Sepior is providing for personal crypto… Read more »

Sepior provides wallet security technology for exchanges and custody providers. Our technology can eliminate the security risks which lead to private key theft and digital asset theft. We do not provide a solution for personal use. However, our technology can be licensed by wallet providers that wish to offer consumer… Read more »

Great! The industry needs strong security! How’s the digital assets custody services going in your area? We got a lot companies in China, but not sure which ones can really trust.

Frank Wiener

Things are going well. We’re seeing a lot of interest with exchanges and custody providers that are looking at more secure alternatives to MultiSig which also provide uniform support of all DA types. MPC provides that functionality.

zoey deng

so what uu think of hardware wallet

Robert Machado

Hardware wallets offer excellent security, but their nature limits the potential business applications. At some point, hardware needs to be protected and complex security processes need to be put in place in order to be used. At the moment these solutions are not easy to use, the human factor might… Read more »

hardware wallets are great but a bit clunky to use.

Frank Wiener

Hardware wallets are certainly secure, but typically introduce other risks, such as loss of the wallet. For custody providers, cold wallets provide long term storage, but they introduce problems with liquidity and being able to immediately trade assets when required. With our MPC approach, users can enjoy the security of… Read more »

From Wallet 1.0 to Wallet 2.0. That’s a big process and improvement. What’s the next level are you making any movement to move forward to Wallet 3.0?

Gabrielle Patrick

yes Sepior and Cybavo and Knabu are working all the time to upgrade. Check out the websites for updates!

Jason Del Rosario

Hello Frank, in your opinion, when using a virtual currency wallet, which of a physical card wallet and a virtual software wallet is more secure?

Hakim Mamoni

Hi Jason, I’d say it depends if you’re dealing with a wallet that manages private keys (wallet 1.0) or a keyless wallet 2.0. For wallet 1.0, I would think the physical card security (secure element) would be better. For keyless wallets, a software wallet should secure enough.

Frank Wiener

Hi Jason,

Sepior and our partners primarily focus on Custody-Grade wallets. These typically support multiparty approvals and use technologies such as MPC or historically MultiSig.

zoey deng

hi everyone

Ella Lee

What kind major partner you have? Institutional player need secured wallet for their client to make sure the assets safe says the ledger CEO, wondering if is there are real use cases?

Gabrielle Patrick

MPC is next gen tech, here are all the partners and use cases

https://www.mpcalliance.org/

https://www.cybavo.com/

https://www.thresh0ld.com/

Frank Wiener

Hi Ella,
Sepior has licensed our MPC Wallet technology to SBI in Japan, and other companies. Cybavo and their partner Knabu are additional examples.
The technology is real, proven, and solves real security issues today.

Keisuke Ishii

Do you have any security solution packages for exchanges especially for Japanese exchanges?

Frank Wiener

Yes, we’ve licensed our technology to SBI for VC Trade

Haruto Ogawa

That’s a very exciting news. Are you working together with SBI in Japan?

Ali Safari

Sepior has a partnership with the SBI in Japan

Ella Lee

Ledger is using your technology?

Hakim Mamoni

No, Ledger uses Hardware Security Modules to secure private keys in their data centres

Frank Wiener

Actually, there are different answers to this question from different participants of this panel.

Frank Wiener

Sepior licenses the core MPC technology and we have versions that work with cold-storage applications such as Ledger.
I believe Cybavo and Knabu offer their particular wallet implementations which would provide an online custodial wallet alternative to Ledger.

Sora Hashimoto

Compare with Ledger what’s Spior’s strength and weakness ?

Suren Ravindra

Working with Sepior and Cybavo, main benefits of Thresh0ld are:
– Zero private keys
– Lower mining fees compared to those using multi-sig
– Automation (via API)
– Bank-grade style UX
– No deployment effort needed: just a web browser and Cybavo mobile authentication app

Frank Wiener

Sepior licenses MPC wallet security technology to companies such as Ledger and other custody-grade wallet providers.
We recently introduced enhancements to allow our MPC approval process to run entirely off-line, to support cold storage.

Frank Wiener

Hi Sora – Sepior’s MPC technology is something that a company like Ledger (and other companies) would license to enhance the security and functionality of their custody grade wallet services.

MPC provides a multiparty approval scheme that is superior to MultiSig and eliminates many of the issues with MultiSig.

Yanying Deng

Yesterday Ledger CEO said MPC has some flaws. What are they?

Robert Machado

Thanks for your question, Yanying. From our perspective, MPC limitations are more related to the requirement of adding additional protection beyond the private key management and signature process. That is the reason why we believe that secure private key encryption must be combined with a strong wallet implementation and a… Read more »

Gabrielle Patrick

MPC used to be costly concept to bring into real-world environments. But we’ve deployed an economical model that makes this best in class security a viable option for all kinds of distributed computing environments where trust is an issue. you can check it out at http://www.thresh0ld.com

Frank Wiener

I missed the Ledger session yesterday, however he may have been referring to some historic limitations of MPC. For example, some MPC technology implementations require all approving parties to be online concurrently to collectively approve a transaction and generate a signature. Sepior has recently introduced the ability for any or… Read more »

Ali Safari

It would be a question to ask Ledger. Ledger offers a hardware based solution using HSM. HSMs have been commonly used to secure private keys in an expensive and difficult to use hardware appliance. So MPC is a software solution that utilizes modern cryptographic techniques offering highly secure, agile and… Read more »

Gabrielle Patrick

@hakim why are multisig hard to use and costly?

Hakim Mamoni

Multisig tx are more costly because each signature takes additional space in the block and miners have limited space in each block. They are harder to integrate to a backend system as each blockchain has its own multisig implementation: i.e at the protocol level for BTC, at smart contract levels… Read more »

In the process of virtual currency transactions, what do we need to pay most attention to in order to ensure transaction security?

Gabrielle Patrick

we stress not having any single point of failure. eliminate the risk of private keys

Sora Hashimoto

Sepior developed the private keys technology by your own team?

Noah Taylor

Total agree the security is the key for wallets. How Sepior make sure your wallet’s security?

Robert Machado

For enterprise wallet, key security needs to be combined with wallet security and eliminating the single point of failure. For this, Sepior and CYBAVO have partnered to provide the full stack security, from private key lifecycle to wallet and nodes operations. Knabu brings the resilience by involving different institutions to… Read more »

Sora Hashimoto

How to apply your MPC service ?

Robert Machado

Sepior offers tailor-made MPC solutions for different use cases, while at CYBAVO we specialize in providing turn-key MPC-powered enterprise wallet for crypto exchanges and fund managers. This can be integrated via API, or easily deployed to enterprise customers.

Jason Del Rosario

Hello Frank, which one do you think is the most secure virtual currency trading platform?
